Since last month’s plane crash incident at an IRS office building in Austin, Texas, the IRS is investigating over 70 reported incidents of inappropriate comments made to agency workers by taxpayers. The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) which tracks threats against IRS workers did not share details regarding the incidents or confirm the number of incidents thus far.
