Lily Batchelder Named New Tax Chief on Senate Finance

Lily Batchelder has been named the new Chief Tax Counsel of the Senate Finance Committee. Here is an excerpt from the press release:

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) today named Lily Batchelder as Chief Tax Counsel for the Senate Finance Committee.

“I’m glad to welcome Lily back to the Senate Finance Committee’s tax team.  Lily’s wide range of experience and expert knowledge of tax and public policy make her an invaluable advisor to the Finance Committee as we continue our efforts to create jobs, help small businesses grow, close the tax gap and explore tax reform,” said Baucus.  “I’m pleased to have Lily on board and know she’ll be a real asset to the Committee.”

Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) on Monday announced that Lily Batchelder will be his new Chief Tax Counsel.

Batchelder was a law clerk for the committee’s tax office and has testified before the committee on tax policy. She currently serves as a Professor of Law and Public Policy at New York University School of Law.
